There was a time a few months ago where I could run 5km and barely raise a sweat.
I just ran 3km and it almost killed me.  Having a car makes you unfit.

I'm seriously considering giving up booze for the month of March, just to see how things go.  I also start back at uni then so It's a good time to try.

Anyway, I'm sitting here soaked in sweat from the exercise so I better jump in the shower.  Going to buy homebrew supplies this arvo booyah.

WOOHOO! I love the Christmas specials. No Kylie this year though.

Also, I'm not a fan of being woken up on a Saturday morning by a hailstorm.

The Newspaper Dilemma

Apr. 29th, 2007 | 11:36 am
mood: nerdy nerdy
music: Salmonella Dub - Ez On

On Saturdays, The Age weighs a staggering 1.4 kilograms. Many people around Melbourne (myself included, hangovers aside) rouse from their extended slumber, walk to the door, give their muscles their weekly workout by hauling the mass of paper inside (please spare a thought for the poor kids who have to deliver these things), and get stuck in, engaging themselves in not only in the news of the day, but all the other intricacies of the weekend paper, because as we all know, there is much more to the weekend papers than simply keeping up to date in a crazy world of news.

As you may have already guessed, the size of the paper is substantially large, too large perhaps. You may have even shared the thought yourself at one stage as you threw away the ‘Drive’ section. While The Age must be congratulated for shedding over half its body weight by the time Sunday comes around, a total of 2 kilograms every weekend is a lot to ingest by anybody’s standards.
Too large even for me, who loves all the Essays in the A2 section, who loves all the columns in Good Weekend magazine, who loves fantasizing about the Travel section, who in short loves sitting around reading the paper, because it inspires me to write good, and stuff. :P

I have a problem. I like reading the newspaper, and I like reading as much of it as possible, especially on the weekends. I get frustrated when I can’t finish an article because there are numerous other articles screaming out at me “READ ME!” Even more frustrating is the fact that somehow there never seems to be enough time to read as much as you would like. It often gets to the stage where a mound of newspapers accumulates because I simply cannot bear to throw them away without having read as much of them as possible, a weekly dilemma that always seems to reach its summit every weekend.

While I would very much like to join a group where I can turn up every so often and give the introduction “Hi I’m Andy and I’m a newspaperaholic”, no such groups exist that I’m aware of. Perhaps I should just cancel my subscription.

In other news the AXA ad is now screening on a TV near you! All that effort and the inside of the house only gets about 3 seconds haha
